Overview

Step into the magical world of Cecelia Ahern in this heartwarming bestseller.

If you could wish for one gift this Christmas, what would it be?

Lou Suffern wishes he could be in two places at once. His constant battle with the clock is a sensitive issue with his wife and family.

Gabe wishes he was somewhere warm. When Lou invites Gabe, a homeless man who sits outside his office, into the building and into his life, Lou’s world is changed beyond all measure.

An enchanting and thoughtful Christmas story that speaks to all of us abut the value of time and what is truly important in life.

Inspiration For This Book

In 2007 I was promoting the PS I LOVE YOU film and republished book, working on SAMANTHA WHO?, preparing to publish THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES and starting work on my first one woman show and as exciting as it all was, I felt I was being pulled in so many different directions. Life's rhythm was beating faster and faster.

I went to The Bear and Bull Bar in the Waldorf Astoria in NY to do a TV Business & Finance show and I distinctly remember a woman asking me - off air - if I could attend a specific event. I recall saying "If I can clone myself I'll be there" and then BAM there was my idea.

Time.

So many places to be, so many things to do, not enough time to do it in, so many people to spend it with. And we want each thing we do and each person we spend it with to feel valued. Time is precious and if we had the choice - and we do - who with and where would we choose to spend our precious time.

That evening after my interview I went back to my hotel and wrote the outline for my new book THE GIFT on the hotel notepad - and the novel was published Christmas 2008.

The "gift" is time. Time is something we all spend and never get back, we can't buy it, we can't give it, but we can share it. It took an exciting but manic schedule to inspire this story of Lou Suffern's journey about learning the value of time, and who he should be spending it with.
